Arsenal To Finally Sign Benzema In January As Madrid Targets Griezmann As Replacement

Arsenal’s chances of finally getting longtime target, Karim Benzema might become realistic as change might be coming to the front line of Real Madrid in the coming transfer windows. Griezmann is now a transfer target for the Los Blancos, and his arrival could force Benzema out of the Santiago Bernabeu.

Although Benitez says he wants Antoine in Madrid so that he can like up with national team counterpart, Benzema following their exploits for France during the international break, however, Madrid’s lineup might not be able to accommodate both Frenchmen at a time. Griezmann operates from the wings, and is also an excellent front man, but with the wings already having Ronaldo and Bale, Griezmann might take up the number 9 position, leaving Benzema on the bench for most of the times.

Benzema has already made his displeasures of not contented with being substituted known, and Griezmann’s arrival could just be the last straw that breaks the camel’s back. Madrid’s officials held talks with their counterparts at Atletico over a possible transfer of the 24 year-old to the other part of the city in the next transfer window, and the club’s president, Florentino Perez has already given a go-ahead in the pursuit of the France international, making a potential arrival for him possible and feasible.

The Gunners failed to bring in an outfield player during the last Summer transfers as a move for their sole-forward target, Benzema fell through. And Wenger has had to continually choose between Walcott and Giroud to lead his attack, but none of them has been in sublime form thus far, prompting speculations that the club will spend big in the next transfer market for a world-class forward. Benzema fits that description, and with him likely to be available soon, Arsenal won’t have an excuse not to bring him to the Emirates.
