Arsenal Transfer News Update – Jenkinson, Higuain, Carvalho And Others
Arsenal defender, Carl Jenkinson will be playing at Upton Park on loan again next season, according to reports.
Although, he has signed goalkeeper Petr Cech, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is making moves to get more reinforcements to his team ahead of next season’s Premier League and Champions League campaign.
The Gunners have been linked to several players and bids have been table for some of these reported targets.
Not only would there be some “coming ins” at the Emirates, but also there will be some “going outs”.
The Guardian claim Jenkinson, who was part of the England squad at the European U-21 Championship last month, is expected to complete a season-long loan-return to Westham.
Due to the emergence of Hector Bellerin and Mathieu Debuchy, Jenkinson found himself in the pecking order and sought for regular playing time last season with the Hammers.
The 23-year England defender played 29 league matches for West Ham last term and Slaven Bilic, the club’s new manager reportedly wants to have him back in the squad. He won 22/55 headers in the Premier League in the 2014/15 season (via London Evening Standard).
Arsenal have also made a bid of £43.3 million for Napoli striker, Gonzalo Higuain. As per the Metro, Arsene Wenger is looking to bolster his forward line and sees the Argentine as a good choice.
Higuain has been a long term target for Arsenal since his days at Real Madrid, but Wenger’s inability to fork out the required amount for his signature made him move to Napoli.
Another target of Arsenal is Barcelona’s winger, Pedro – who had since been relegated to a bench role since the emergence of Neymar. Despite signing a new deal recently, the 27-year old Spain international has described his situation with Barca as ‘delicate’. It looks as though Pedro will be making a switch from the Camp Nou this summer and Arsenal is a possible destination.
Arturo Vidal has, as per reports, snubbed the Gunners in favour of a move to Real Madrid. Arsenal’s other midfield target William Carvalho is rumoured to be one of the Spanish giants targets too. The 23-year old midfielder will move to the Emirates if Arsenal are able to beat off strong competition from Madrid.
Lastly, Arsene Wenger has given a trial to Nantes teenager Amine Harit with a view to signing him (Squawka). The Metro says the midfielder has joined the Arsenal squad for pre-season training and he will be looking to impress Wenger in order to earn a permanent switch
