Arsenal’s Players Ratings vs Burnley – Fantastic Sanchez, Invisible Giroud and Debuting Elneny

Arsenal progressed through to the fifth round of the FA Cup after defeating Championship club Burnley 2-1 at Emirates Stadium on Saturday. The Gunners opened the scoring through Calum Chambers in the 19th minute of the first half, but their lead was short-lived as Sam Vokes equalized for the Clarets 11 minutes later.

The game was tightly contested till Alexis Sanchez put the Gunners again in the lead in the 53rd minute of the game.

For the rest of the game, chances were far, and few between for both sides and the Gunners held on to their lead to stretch their unbeaten run in FA Cup to 14 games.

Here’s how Arsenal players are rated:

David Ospina: 6

He could have come out of the cross that led to Burnley’s goal. Otherwise a decent performance.

Calum Chambers: 7

He scored a wonderful goal, but was quite average in his defensive duties

Kieran Gibbs: 6.5

He was good going forward and took out his own teammate in the build-up to Burnley’s goal.

Gabriel: 6

He looked unsure for most of the game. But luckily that didn’t affect the result.

Laurent Koscielny: 6

He made a big mistake early on in the game, but thankfully for him, David Ospina was there to make a save from Burnley’s effort. Otherwise, did fine.

Francis Coquelin: 6

He made his first start in two months after recovering from an injury. Was a bit rusty.

Mohamed Elneny: 7

This was his debut for Arsenal. He has most touches of the ball in the game and a 94% pass completion rate. He also has some long-range shots on goal. Overall, a decent debut.

Alex Iwobi: 7

The youngster was sharp in the game and looks like a real deal.

Alexis Sanchez: 7.5

The Chilean started his first game after his spell out with an injury. He created trouble for Burnley defence and scored the winning goal.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain: 7

He was much more composed on the ball than his recent outings. He also provided an assist for the winner.

Olivier Giroud: 6

He didn’t get much joy against very physical Burnley defence. However, he did put in a shift.
