Riyad Mahrez

Arsene Wenger reportedly eager to sign Leicester sensation Riyad Mahrez for £30m

Leicester City have had a miracle season under Claudio Ranieri and sit 5 points clear at the top of the Premier League. Securing just a few more victories will mean the most unlikeliest of victories for the club and prove that the ‘top 4’ is not necessarily an open and shut door.

Tottenham have promised to fight them all the way but with the finish line in sight, their chances are slipping away. With all the attention on their players, it is only natural that the bigger clubs will be taking a look at some of the star performers and seeing if they can lure the players away from Leicester.

Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez have been the standout players this year and all eyes will be on Leicester and whether they can keep hold of their prize assets.

Reports in France indicate that Arsene Wenger is ready to spend big to land at least one of those names, with Riyad Mahrez looking promising. He has 16 goals and 11 assists to his name this season and many clubs across Europe are looking to try and test the Leicester resolve. Even Barcelona have been making noise about bringing over the Algerian.

Le10 Sport in France says that Arsene Wenger is pushing for a transfer and hoping to have the deal finalized once the season is over.  Wenger is known to be an admirer of what Mahrez has achieved this season but Leicester are reluctant to let him go. They have said it would take more than £30million to speak to him. Would he be so successful at Arsenal? Would he fit in with Ozil and Sanchez playing similar roles?
