Arteta & Flamini Could Pair In Arsenal Midfield For Watford, Coquelin To Get Rest

Arsenal may be in for a double boost in the squad this weekend, with club captain Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini back in full training as club manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed via the Mirror. Reports claim Wenger is considering playing both Arteta and Flamini while handing Coquelin a rest.

The Gunners will be obviously very happy with this piece of news as they are battling with too many injuries at the moment and have had these two midfielders join defender Laurent Koscielny on the injury table.

The two-week break must have given Arteta and Flamini the time required to resume full fitness and they will be very important for the squad right now provide a timely boost for the Gunners with a trip across the capital to Watford coming up and a Champions League match against Bayern Munich coming up next.

Mikel Arteta has the joint-highest pass accuracy in the Arsenal squad this season, although he has only played 106 minutes of league action and has not started a league match for Arsenal in the English Premier League this season.

Wenger said about the two players that, “Arteta and Flamini are back in full training. We need to see how they are and how confident they are, but we can’t rule it out.”

Arsenal will be hoping to build on the momentum they gained during the 3-0 win over Manchester United before the international break and hope they can thrash Watford and climb up the League table.

Maybe this season, Arsenal could finally win the much-awaited English Premiership trophy.
