Barca Agree Fee For Paul Pogba – Reports

Paul Pogba it seems is headed for Barcelona. According to reports from Italy, Juventus have agreed a deal with the Catalan side for the transfer of the French midfielder to Camp Nou. Pogba who is believed to be anxious to turn out alongside Lionel Messi will be the 3rd expensive player following the likes of Neymar and Luis Saurez.

Of course Juventus president Andrea Agnelli has denied the reports whilst admitting that the club have accepted a bid of 80 million euros. We have to speculate that this bid might have been offered by either Man City or PSG which would have forced Barca to move now despite their transfer ban. If Barcelona has submitted a bid, the deal must have included a clause allowing Pogba to remain at Juventus till 2016 as the club are on a Fifa imposed transfer ban. This might work out for Juventus who will want to hold on to their star player for another season.

Pogba moving to Barcelona will be very interesting to watch. With Xavi departing after a decade at the club, Luis Enrique is facing the prospects of having his midfield lose its steam and efficiency. Though Ivan Rakitic would be seen as many to take over from Xavi, Paul Pogba is the ultimate midfield maestro there is now in Europe. Often times compared with Patrick Vieira or Yaya Toure, Pogba has shown a class and touch above average. His creativity belies his age, and his attacking instincts are second to none.

He will be providing the team with the flair so sought by the club that they signed Fabregas from Arsenal. Shame that that particular transfer didn’t pan out well. With Pogba’s addition to the team, manager Enrique will have no trouble employing 4-3-3, as he will be lining up a midfield trio of Pogba, Iniesta and Rakitic. With his prowess, Pogba could combine attacking duties and defending duties, allowing Iniesta space to effectively tread passes and create chances. Imagine a midfield such as the above described and think what havoc they could wreck on any team with the attacking trio of Messi, Suarez and Neymar.

Should Barcelona be successful in their attempt to sign Paul Pogba, then Barcelona are assured of success both immediately and in the future as Pogba grows into the world class talent that he is. Pogba will be a legend, regardless of where ever he eventually plies his trade, surely he would want to do that in a club with history, with the best player on earth!
