“Bargain buy” Wenger confirms transfer of £80,000-a-week world cup q/finalist imminent

Whenever wenger makes a “bargain buy” he always flaunts it.  Initially it was Ozil, he has praised his star midfielder at times after seeing him excel. Now he has some nice words for Peter Cech.

The 33 year old short stopper has kept us in games many times this season. Even though his Arsenal career didn’t begin brightly he has gradually managed to regain is confidence.

We are now convinced that John Terry said the truth-for-once when he suggested Peter Cech will single handedly save us 15 points this season. Add that to our usually haul of 72 points and we have mathematically won the league. His performances has brought praise from his teammates all season.

Wenger: “He has brought his experience, calmness and his leadership as well, he has been good and highly focused. i don’t want to be detrimental to David Ospina because he was exceptional last year, but Peter Cech has done it all, so he is someone who gives you an aura, a charisma that is always important in the big games for the players. I met him before I signed him and we had a long discussion about the game and the job and his position, and I was deeply impressed by his knowledge, by his professionalism, by his detailed knowledge.

So since I have not been surprised, because I got the whole package in one go. You always look around in the dressing room before a big game and you think, are we strong enough? And these kind of faces help you believe it. Also in big games the number of shots on target shrinks. But then one save can be the difference in the end result.”
