Bayern Man Confirms Muller Could Join Man United This Season, £60m Deal On

Louis van Gaal has seen his chances of landing one of his former charges – who has been constantly linked to Old Trafford since the Dutchman joined United – boosted. Bayern Munich’s forward Thomas Muller has emerged as a top target for Manchester United this summer again, and the German’s transfer to the Premier League club has been a running theme ever since van Gaal become boss of the Red Devils.

Reported emerged yesterday that van Gaal is confident of landing Muller and the player has also told his close friends that he fancies a move to United. However, the former Netherlands boss has now been handed another boost regarding Muller’s move to Old Trafford.

Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola has revealed Muller and Mario Gotze – another reported Man United target – will leave the Bundesliga champions if sporting director Matthias Sammer agrees, as per the Express.

The source goes on to say the Spanish manager claims he has little say on transfer issues at the club and refuse to rule out the sale of any player.

Prolific forward Muller and attacking midfield star Gotze are reportedly unsettled at Bayern, and have been linked with a move away from the Allianz Arena. United are allegedly keen on both, but Muller especially.

Muller is the Red Devils’ top target and United have had a bid of £60m turned down by the Bavarian giants, reports the Express.

The 20-time Premier League champions are now expected to return to Germany with an improved offer for the 25-year old and Guardiola has not given any assurance that Muller or Gotze will be staying when quizzed.

The former Barcelona tactician said instead that sporting director Sammer and the club’s president will have the final say on transfers.

“I am not the right person to talk about buying, selling and lending players. This is the club,” said Guardiola.

“I am very content but I understand each player’s personal situation. But I am the wrong counterpart. Matthias and the president are the right people to talk to.

Reports have it that Muller could force his move to United by handing in a transfer request, while Gotze is also thought to be unhappy. Meanwhile, Arsenal are interested in the former Dortmund ace, who has stated he would have to wait and see if Guardiola speaks to him more, but if the manager does not he (Gotze) could consider his options.

Signing Muller will send a clear signal to United’s Premier League rivals about Louis van Gaal’s intention to return the club to glory days.
