Bayern Munich Man HINTS On Manchester United Signing Thomas Muller

Manchester United are interested in luring Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller to Old Trafford this summer, and the German ace is reportedly keen on the move.

That is according to the Guardian who say Muller wants to play under former Bayern Munich boss Louis van Gaal once again.

Although the Bundesliga champions do not want to sell, as they affirmed after Bastian Schweinsteiger’s recent sale to the English club that fans should be rest assured that none of their stars would be leaving the club this summer anymore.

The Metro is now saying Muller’s willingness to move to Old Trafford could be a deciding factor and as per the Guardian, Bayern could be tempted by an offer as huge as £56 million.

Van Gaal had suggested that he was still looking to improve at least two positions in the team, and after being linked to the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Karim Benzema, the Dutchman said yesterday that he is in fact searching for a striker, but the striker is not among all the names the media is speculating about.

Muller’s Bayern teammate and compatriot, Philip Lahm also gave a hint about the move, saying he can not guarantee that the 25-year old would not join Schweinsteiger at Manchester United.

“In football you can imagine everything,” Lahm told reporters in Shanghai, where Bayern are preparing to face Inter in a pre-season friendly.

“It’s not my decision. In football, it goes so, so quickly.

“It’s not always only up to the players. There are clubs who get players, player go. In football  everything goes very, very quickly. I think you can never give a guarantee that it will work like this or like that.

“As a result, I certainly can’t give a guarantee for Thomas Muller or talk about whether I can imagine (him leaving). You can always imagine anything happening.” (via Goal).

German television channel Sport1 claims Manchester United are lining up a €100 million offer? for Muller, as per the above named source. That amounts to £69.5 million, which is pretty huge and ridiculous.

The Daily Mirror, however, says United have denied they made a bid that much for Muller.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils are interested in Barcelona’s Pedro and have reportedly triggered the Spaniard’s £22 million release clause.
