If reports in the Turkish media is anything to go by, then Arsenal has accepted a 4 million bid from Turkish giants for German world cup winner Lukas Podolski who spent last season on loan with Inter Milan.
There has been reports of the German attacker joining Galatasaray in the last one week with some reports claiming all thats is left is for Arsenal to accept Gala’s fee. The rumours were further fuelled when Podolski was quoted to have said he is already looking forward to playing for the Turkish giats in the UEFA champions league next season.
Should the report be true and Arsenal have accepted the £4 million pounds bid, the gunners will be signing Podolski at a 50% lost since he was purchased for about £8 million some years back, however, considering he earns about £90,000 per week with Arsenal, it is a smart bit of business. About £5 million will be freed up in a the way bill by letting him go.
However, it is important that we bring in another striker before the window closes. Although Theo Walcott did well last season when he was used in attack, he is definitely not a striker and I do not see him playing in that role for long especially if Giroud gets injured which is something thats to be expected when it comes to Arsenal.
