BID ACCEPTED, Chelsea To ANNOUNCE John Stones Signing, To Play VS WBA

As per the daily mail, the Blues are resolute in their pursuit of 21-year-old Everton defender John Stones who is known for his tenacity in defense, and it is understood that Mourinho has instructed Chelsea’s board to go all out and bring the defender to Stamford Bridge.

This news is coming a few days after the Toffees rebuffed a £30m bid by the Blues for their defender. Chelsea are keen on the player who has been at the helm of their transfer wish list all summer. However, it is understood that Chelsea will tempt the Toffees with a marginal increase in the initial sum offered for the player and this will test Everton’s resolve.

Light may be at the end of the tunnel for the blues as Everton have already agreed a deal that will see River plates’ defender Ramiro Funes Mori move to the Merseyside club in a £5.5m agreement. It is understood that Everton will now be willing to allow Stones jump the ship to London on arrival of his replacement.

The Blues stepped up their chase for the defender when Manchester United joined in the race to sign the said player, having failed in securing the signature of Sergio Ramos from Madrid.

The start to Chelsea’s season has seen them conceded five goals in two games attributed to the poor show offs of legendary John Terry, who was substituted when Chelsea got battered by City in their second match of the season.

It is thought that John Stones will not only be a long term replacement for John Terry but might walk straight into the first team of the EPL holders.
