Ask any Arsenal fan which position(s) they believe Wenger needs to strength before the summer transfer window closes and majority are likely to mention the striking position and rightly so.
With Giroud and Welbeck the only out and out strikers at the club, Arsenal definitely need to bring in another striker if they want to mount a serious challenge for the premier league title this season.
However, one of the Gunners may target may have chosen to go to their rivals instead. According to reports, one of the attackers Wenger has earmarked for potential signing is Barca’s Pedro. However, according to reports. Pedro has this morning flown to London for medical and will be completing a move to Chelsea rather than to Arsenal before this weekend’s premier league clashes.
Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City have also been linked to the signing of Pedro but it seems Chelsea has moved quickly to sign the player. With Pedro gone, Wenger’s options are even more limited now.
However, if reports that Real Madrid has accepted a bid from Arsenal for Benzema is true, then it would make perfect sense to drop interest in Pedro.
