Brazilian Roundup: Gremio and Corinthians impress

This mid-week Brazilian Championship has started to have rounds twice a week and you can follow it all here! We had the 5th round of the Brazilian Championship and below you can read a summary of the main matches of the round, focusing on the leaders of the championship Corinthians and Grêmio.

Vasco 2 x 5 Corinthians

Another good match for Corinthians, where their strategy of counter-attack works well again. In the first half, two shots on Vasco’s goal and two goals. After half time, Luis Fabiano scored 2 goals in the first three minutes of the second half. After being pressed by Vasco, Corinthians showed maturity to control the match and again in counter attacks and superb percentage of chances taken, they scored more three to finish the match.

Chapecoense 3 x 6 Gremio

A crazy match. That is the summary. And of course, a match of 9 goals will not be different. Starting with a goal from the midfield. Yes, that happened when the defensive midfielder Michel tried through ball but scored the goal. Michel scored another one, via his head, after a free kick and at the end of the first half, Chape replied with a free kick. Chape started the second half smashing Grêmio, but all changes when Lucas Barrios left the field due to injury, entering Everton. The way of the match changes, because Everton is a forward very fast. Gremio starts to play in counter-attack and in two minutes Everton scored two wonderful goals. After that more goals in the match, two for each side, in a crazy night that confirmed Gremio have the best football played in Brazil so far.
