Guardiola Official Statement

Breaking – Guardiola asked friends about life in UK, his wife unhappy at prospect of moving to Manchester

Pep Guardiola has dropped the biggest hint yet that he could seriously be considering moving to the Premier League once his present deal with Bayern Munich comes to an end in the summer.

The Spaniard has confirmed that he will leave the German side once his contract with them ends in June. Guardiola’s availability has stirred up a lot of talk and rumours of him joining either City or United have gathered even more pace as reports have revealed that Pep has indeed spoken to his friends and asked them about life in England.

Present Middlesborough manager Aitor Karanka, who was Jose Mourinho’s assistant at Real Madrid, has revealed that Guardiola asked him questions about England when they met last month.

Karanka said, “I had the opportunity to speak with him a month ago in Spain. He asked me about the league, the Premier League, and the country and everything. I think he would come here because he is a great coach. For him it would be pretty good to come here, and one day he will come.”

This admission from Karanka is bound to stir up even more talk about Guardiola’s future and his potential future in England. Manchester City look to be favourites in the race for the former Barca manager’s signature but Manchester United cannot be ruled out of the running. Jose Mourinho is also another name that needs to be mentioned thanks to his departure from Chelsea.

Karanka spoke about his friend and former superior as he said, “Jose is the best. It surprises me. It is the first time he was in this situation. He is still the best manager in the world.”
