£25m Rated Winger To Join Manchester United In January After Louis Van Gaal Order

The Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal has instructed the club’s board to tie up a deal with Southampton attacker Sadio Mane when the transfer window re-opens in the New Year, as per the Express.

There are claims the Dutch boss was impressed with Mane’s display in the Saints’ recent 3-1 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, and Spanish source Fichajes says van Gaal has told the club’s chiefs to try and sign the Senegalese forward in January.

Saints’ boss Ronald Koeman has so far resisted all attempts by several sides to lure Mane away from the St. Mary’s. The Red Devils made a £25m offer to sign the former Red Bull Salzburg attacker in the summer after missing out on Pedro Rodriguez but Koeman stood firm.

But the Dutchman’s stance has slightly changed of late as he appears resigned to losing the 23-year old anytime soon.

“Maybe one day we lose Mane but then we have to be prepared,” the Dutch tactician said.

“You know in our situation that kind of player, if they play like today, there will come a lot of interest in the end of the season, but now we enjoy watching Mane in our team.”

Mane moved to Southampton for £12m in the summer of 2014, and has put up a number of impressive performances for the South Coast outfit, including the fastest hat-trick in Premier League history in the 5-1 win over Aston Villa last season.
