Breaking News – Chelsea Agree Signing Of CB, Fee & Personal Terms Agreed, Medical Today

According to high reliable football insider journalist Tony Hughes, Chelsea have agreed a deal with French league one side Nantes for the signature of high rated 26-year-old centre back Papy Djilobdji.

According to the report, Chelsea have agreed personal terms with the player and he will be signing a four years contract with the club. The report went further to state that a fee of £2.8 million will exchange hands between Chelsea and the French club and a medical has been booked for later today.

If the report is true, it means Chelsea have accepted defeat in their bid to sign Everton’s John Stones who is reportedly Chelsea’s number one target for the centre back position.

Everton had reportedly rejected three bids of £20 million, £24 million and £30 million from Chelsea for the signature of the high rated centre back.

Should Djilobdji join Chelsea, it will be interesting to see how the Senegalese does at Stamford bridge. However, considering the amount of money involved, Chelsea will be taking very little risk here as if he ends up being a flop, the blues will know they have only spent 2.8 million and at just 26 years, he still have resale value.

Seems like a no lose situation for Chelsea here if true.
