Manchester United injury crisis have started just one day after the start of the Premier League season. 23 year old defender Phil Jones is the first Manchester United player to be hit by injury this season. Phil Jones featured for Manchester United on their pre-season tour in U.S.A but was unfortunately ruled out of United’s premier league opener against Tottenham.
The 23 year old is said to be suffering from mild thrombosis which will rule him out of action for 3 weeks. A thrombus is a blood clot that appears inside the walls of blood vessels or heart and it may prevent the cells from the tissues of the affected areas to be properly nourished with oxygen and nutrients. Phil Jones tendency to get injured has hampered progress to his promising career. The 24 year old defender is starting to become a liability rather than an asset the club.
The English defender will be highly disappointed about his ineligibility to feature for United due to his high optimism to become a starter for Manchester United over the course of the season. With Marcos Rojo not fit, Louis Van Gaal was forced to pair Chris Smalling and Daley Blind at the central defence.
Despite Daley Blind struggles at the back, Chris Smalling gave an excellent performance against Tottenham yesterday that might make a strong case for the English defender being a starter for Manchester United over the course of the season. With Manchester United likely to bring a central defender to Old Trafford before the transfer window slams shut, Phil Jones faces an uphill task getting a starting berth in the team when he returns from injury.
