Breaking News – Manchester City Hijacks Pedro Deal, Announcement On Monday

Manchester City look set to beat bitter cross town rivals Manchester United to the signing of want-away Barcelona winger Pedro according to Mundo Deportivo. The Spanish media outlet claim that City have offered more money for the services of the World Cup winner.

The 28-year old has been heavily linked with a move to United and some media sources have even gone as far as claiming that a deal was imminent. The Spain international who is contracted to Barcelona until 2019 in a deal which he signed just last season has grown frustrated with life at the Catalan club. He has sighted unhappiness at the reduced playing time he got last season.

The phenomenal trio of Neymar, Suarez and Messi who have scored 122 goals ensure that Pedro spent time on the bench with their consistent form and perfomances. The trio formed an almost telepathic understanding of each others movements much to the terror of opposition defenders and to the delight of the Barcelona faithful.

However, with Neymar sidelined with mumps for the UEFA Super Cup clash with Sevilla, Pedro still found himself on the bench albeit coming on to score the winner in a 5-4 victory.

With the departure of United flop, Angel Di Maria to PSG, Pedro had been seen as the natural replacement for the Argentine but with City also in the chase and offering €30 million upfront with an additional €2 million in add ons against United’s €25 million upfront and €5 million in add ons, City appear to be ahead in the chase for the Spanish international.
