Breaking News – Manchester United Lands In Hospital After FREAK Injury
The international break curse extended its bad luck to the Red Devils once again, as the side’s defender, Finland international, Paddy McNair picked up an abdominal injury while on duty for his country during the Euros qualifiers against Ireland. The match ended in a 1 – 1 draw. The 20 year-old was withdrawn after 51 minutes, and is currently on admission in an hospital back in Finland.
It hasn’t been determined how many days he will spend before full recuperation, but he remains a doubtful for the visit to Goodison park as United prepare to face Everton come weekend. McNair joins Rooney and Bastian on the sidelines, becoming United’s 3rd victim of the break.
McNair was beginning to gain a place in the United’s defence following his excellent displays in recent times. Although he hasn’t seen much of action this season, but he was frequently called into action last season, and Louis van Gaal will be looking to feature him more this term after helping Finland qualify for next year’s European games. McNair, despite his age was a regular part of the Fins squad that secured qualification, and will be disappointed for picking up an injury at such a time when he is on a perfect form.
Manchester United will however have the services of Rojo, Smalling, Blind and Valencia available for the match by weekend, and they will be looking at picking up all maximum points so as to at least maintain their number 3 position on the log. Paddy McNair will definitely be available for selection in subsequent games as the season goes on.
