Cech Replacement? Manchester United Off To Sign For Arsenal

Dundee United have allowed Manchester United target, Josh Donaldson, to go to the Emirates stadium for a trial with Arsenal, according to the Daily Mail. The-15-year-old has already had short stints at fellow Scottish teams Hearts and Rangers, but the youngster is now attracting the top guns from the English Premier League following Arsenal and United’s interest in him.

Arsenal have already several promising goalkeepers on their books at youth level. Finnish shot-stopper Hugo Keto has featured for the club in the UEFA Youth League this season, whilst Ryan Huddart has been heavily involved with the U18s. The Mail claim that Manchester United and Leicester City are both interested in Donaldson. If Arsenal opt to sign Donaldson though, they will have to pay Dundee United a compensation fee as heā€™s under the age of 22.

Arsenal have great depth in goal with the likes of Petr Cech, David Ospina and Roma loanee Wojciech Szczesny. They also have another goalkeeper out on loan to Championship side Wolves. The Gunners have made an excellent start to the season as they find themselves in second place on the Premier League table with only goal difference keeping them off top spot.

Cech has been a great player since signing for Arsenal, though he did have a poor Premier League debut for the Gunners in their opening day loss to West Ham United. Besides this, the former Chelsea star has kept six clean sheets from 12 league outings for Arsenal ā€“ the second-highest tally in the division, behind Joe Hart (seven).

Arsenal surprisingly lost to West Bromwich Albion in their last Premier League fixture, but current league leaders Manchester City lost to Liverpool so both teams are still sitting at 26 points.
