Chambers In DM? Joel Campbell To Play As Number 9 Against Sheffield Wednesday

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has explicitly stated that he will make significant changes to his squad tonight. The Gunners will play Sheffield Wednesday in the Capital One cup and players that have spent most of their season on the bench will be given the opportunity to lace their boots for the Gunners.

Most fringe players will start in the match today but first team players like Petr Cech will be in goal due to the absence of Ospina while Mertesacker too should be at the heart of defence after missing the match against Everton last weekend due to illness.

Two players have been expected to break into the first team of Arsenal but are yet resigned to playing second fiddle football, Joel Campbell and Calum Chambers. Joel Campbell returned from loan at Villarreal with great prospect and wanted to move away since he wasn’t guaranteed first team football but Wenger refused to sell him.

Wenger said of Campbell and Chambers:

“I like Joel Campbell very much for two reasons,” Wenger said yesterday. “One is that he has outstanding individual quality, but he is also a team player. He works very hard for the team.

“I’m convinced he will get a chance here and that he will take it. He has another opportunity against Sheffield Wednesday and I’m hopeful that he will show that he has the quality to play for Arsenal.

“When you get the chance, you have to be ready. To be ready, you have to prepare. I must say that Joel Campbell and Calum Chambers are two players who do absolutely everything right.

“They are prepared, the preparation they have created will give them the confidence against Sheffield Wednesday and I’m confident they will play well.”

The aforementioned players will be starting the match and they must take their chances in the star studded Arsenal team.
