Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has signed a new contract that keeps him at the Stamford Bridge until 2021.
Speaking on how he is delighted to sign the new deal, the 20-year-old talented midfielder said: “I’m delighted to sign a new contract at Chelsea and my focus is on working hard in training every day in order to push on and establish myself in the team. It really means a lot because this shows the club believe in me so I’m really happy.
“The club have done so much for me since I started here as an Under-8 and now I want to repay the faith they’ve shown in me with my performances on the pitch.”
The youngster has been one of the key players, who have helped Chelsea remain in good form after Jose Mourinho was sacked. Loftus-Cheek has managed 9 appearances for Chelsea this season and already has scored his first professional goal against Scunthorpe United in the FA Cup last month.
Speaking about Loftus-Cheek progress, Chelsea interim boss Guus Hiddink said: “In the upcoming match days there will be options as well.”
“We had him in training and made special analysis of the way he has to progress at his age and he’s working on that and it will pay off. When I arrived I thought he was 24 or 25. That indicates he has a great future. We work specifically on a plan on what he can improve.
“He’s working on that, it will pay off in the upcoming games. I wont give any guarantees, but he will have his minutes.”
