Chelsea Bids GOODBYE To Petr Cech, Arsenal To ANNOUNCE Signing This Week

Reports in Sunday People have emerged that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is set to reward Petr Cech for his glittering career with the Blues with a £4 million payoff as Arsenal close in on a move for the Chelsea legend.

The 33 year old has played for the blues for the past 11 years, making 485 appearances and helping the club win four premier league titles, four FA cups , three league cups , one Champions League and Europa League title in that time. However, he fell behind Thibaut Courtois in the pecking order last season and is set to leave the Blues this season in search of regular first team football.

Cech has a year remaining on his current contract , and Abramovich is willing to award a large amount of these wages as a thank you token to the departing legend.

Of the £8 million fee the Gunners are reportedly parting with for Cech, half is expected to go to the player.

Cech has reportedly agreed personal terms with Arsenal and the deal is expected to be completed in the coming days. Though Mourinho had earlier stated his desire against Cech moving to another Premier League rival, Abramovich had granted the keeper the liberty to choose any club he wished.

There was interest from abroad for the services of the experienced Czech International , most notably from PSG, but Cech’s desire to stay in London , coupled with Arsenal’s promises to offer regular first team football at a high level, have reportedly convinced the Blues Legend to swap Stamford Bridge for the Emirates stadium.
