Chelsea are bracing themselves for an epic showdown in the last days of the transfer window by preparing a record £104 million offer to land both John Stones and Paul Pogba. The duo have been heavily touted by the Blues for the past one month and the Blues are believed to be ready to go over the top for both players. According to reports, it is understood that Chelsea Manager Jose Mourinho is preparing a fresh bid of 70 million pounds for Juventus Paul Pogba before the transfer window closes on Tuesday. While also negotiating with Everton over a potential £34 million transfer fee for John Stones.
The Blues have spent £54 million so far in the transfer window, bringing the likes of Falcao, Pedro, Begovic, Baba Rahman , Kennedy into the team. Coupled with the potential signing of Pogba and Stones will take their transfer spending to a record £159 million. After plans to not make any changes to the EPL winning squad of last year, Chelsea’s disappointing start to the season was enough to convince Chelsea owner Roman Abrahomivich to bring out his cheque book for more signings.
It is reported that Jose Mourinho is willing to offer Paul Pogba as much as £300,000 per week to land the Frenchman. The Portuguese is beleived to be a keen admirer of Pogba and it would be recalled at his press-conference during Chelsea’s pre-season where he praised Pogba and stated how much quality Pogba will add to any team.
The addition of Pogba to Chelsea is expected to relegate Brazilian midfielder Ramires to the bench, with Pogba taking his position alongside Matic in midfield. Meanwhile Chelsea will be gathering all their resources to launch a last ditch effort before the transfer window closes for John Stones. Everton have rejected three bids from Chelsea for John Stones and have also rejected a transfer request from the 21 year old. The Blues will be hoping their last bid should be enough to land John Stones.
