Chelsea have made an offer for Augsburg defender Abdul Rahman Baba. The Ghanaian international who is aged 20 years has become the toast of top European clubs this season as they look to bolster their teams. Real Madrid and Man City are just a few of the clubs linked with Abdul Rahman. However, Chelsea are said to have made an offer for the left back, believed to be around £10 million according to the Daily Star, though he is valued by Augsburg at £15 million.
The blues are set to say goodbye to Filipe Luis and his leaving would allow Mourinho move Cesar Azpilicueta back to his natural position while Abdul Rahman will become first-choice at left back and Branislav Ivanovic will move into centre back, according to the metro.
For a player his age, Abdul Rahman’s stats have been impressive and he can only get better. And Chelsea will provide him the opportunity to grow as he would like, with Jose Mourinho the type of manager who demands a lot from his players, and Abdul Rahman can easily fit into the team as his energy and dexterity ensures that he will be a favourite with both manager, teammates and fans alike.
