Just last week Chelsea announced the signing of Manchester United target Pedro but the blues have gotten one over the red devils again. This time, Chelsea have completed the signing of reported Manchester United target Robert Kenedy from Brazilian side Fluminense in a deal said to be for £6 million.
Kenedy was initially linked with a move to Manchester United with many reports claiming in July that the player was due in England to have medical and complete a move to Manchester United. Whatever happened we may never get to know but the player is officially a Chelsea player having completed a secret medical and officially unveiled.
He has been given the number 16 shirt by Chelsea which means Jose Mourinho sees him as a part of his team this season. Should that be the case, he will be competing for a spot in the starting XI against Costa, Remy and Falcao.
His versatility means aside playing in the striking role, he can play the attacking midfield role as well as on both wings. Although considering the presence of Falcao, Costa and Remy, he is unlikely to get much game time in the league, he could be be played in the cup games.
