With the re-opening of the transfer market edging closer by the day, the Blues are sure they will sign Serbian and Red Star Belgrade midfielder Marko Grujic in January, reports the Guardian.
Following his stellar performance for club and Serbian U-21 side, the defensive midfielder has drawn interest from several clubs including Paris Saint Germain and Manchester United but Chelsea believes they will sign the player.
During the summer, there were reports that the player was moving to Hamburg in Germany but the deal failed to materialise and Red Star Belgrade extended his contract by three years, as per the reports.
If Grujic makes the move to Chelsea, it will certainly find it difficult to get a place in the star studded midfield of Chelsea. But it is understood that he will be sent back on loan to his club. He has been tipped as an ideal replacement for the out-of-form Matic.
Matic has been horrendous this season and a complete shadow of himself. Last season, he was in the Premier League best XI of the season but he has failed to replicate the same form for this season.
