Chelsea Could ANNOUNCE Griezmann Signing On Monday As Abramovich Sanctions Deal

Chelsea fans have Manchester City to thank as after the 3-0 defeat to Manchester City, Chelsea’s transfer activities seems to have been put on the fast track. Just  yesterday the blues announced the signing of Pedro Rodriguez from Barca in a deal said to be worth 21 million. That was few days after Chelsea completed the signing of  Baba Rahman from German side Augsburg.

Now new reports are claiming the blues could be on the verge of breaking their own transfer record. According to the reports, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has  ordered Jose Mourinho and Michael Enemalo to do what it takes to sign Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann.

Only few days ago news broke that Griezmann’s release clause has been upped which means should Chelsea sign the player, they will have to pay as much as 60 million euros for him which is about 42 million pounds.

Griezmann though predominantly an attacking midfielder but he can also play on the wings as well as a striker. Last season, playing behind Mario Manduzkic, he scored  27 goals and created 5 assists. His versatility means he can be an option for Costa in attack which is actually a good thing considering the injury prone nature of all  Chelsea current strikers.

At just 24, Griezmann still has his best years ahead of him.
