Chelsea COULD Announce John Stones Deal This Week
The Toffees have maintained a firm stance and remained unyielding in Chelsea’s entire attempt to sign their defender John Stones.
The toffees boss had made it clear that they will not sell Stones to Chelsea this summer as they are yet to find a suitable replacement for the player and are unwilling to gamble with their ambition this season.
However, the reports coming from the Times are claiming that the player has informed Roberto Martinez that he wishes to join the four-time Premier League champions, and if they remain unwilling to allow him leave, he will hand a transfer request to the Toffees before the transfer window closes.
Chelsea has had four bids rebuffed by the Toffees with the latest understood to be around £40 million – the Blues believes that the tough-tackling defender will make instant impact in their defense line that has so far conceded seven goals in three matches. Stones has been tipped as a long term replacement for the ageing John terry.
This is an opportunity for Stones to realise his dream and not miss out on the opportunity of playing for a big club and the best option he has is to force a move as the transfer market gradually winds down.
The next few days in the transfer market are crucial as Chelsea will have to look elsewhere for a defender if Everton fail to accept their massive offer for the player.
