According to reports by Italian media out let Gazzetta dello sport, Chelsea have decided Mohammed Salah will not be sold to Inter Milan or Fiorentina. According to the report, Chelsea will instead be using the Egyptian as a bait to sign key summer target Antoine Griezmann.
Griezmann has constantly been linked to Chelsea in the last two months with some reports of a deal already in place. But according to Gazzetta, Chelsea are now only just making official bids for the player.
The reports claim the blues will table a bid of €50 million plus Salah for the Frenchman which looks outrageous to me. First the Frenchman has a reported release clause of £43 million which is about 50 million and Salah is definitely worth at least £15 million.
I definitely want Griezmann at Chelsea. His versatility will be good for the team. He can play not only as a striker but as well as a winger and a 8 when necessary. If I am to hazard a guess, I would guess Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has decided to sign the Frenchman instead of Marco Reus despite the German likely to be cheaper.
Although I do not believe we will include Salah in the deal but I expect Griezmann to be a blue before the end of the transfer window.
