Chelsea News: Antonio Conte found John Terry and Thibaut Courtois replacements

Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Inter Milan defender Andrea Ranocchia in summer. The 28-year old defender is currently playing for Serie A club Sampdoria on a loan move. He is in the last year of his contract with Inter and will be available on a free transfer in summer.

Ranocchia has previously played under Antonio Conte for the Italy national team, and according to the report, future Chelsea manager wants him to join the Blues in the summer. The Blues are set to lose veteran defender John Terry in summer, and Kurt Zouma is expected to miss the initial part of the season with his injury.

Conte sees Ranocchia as an able replacement of John Terry, who is in the last year of his contract with the West London club. Ranocchia has represented the Azzurri on 20 occasions and is in contention to be in Conte’s squad for the Euro 2016. He has been playing for Inter since signing for the club in 2010 from Genoa.

Meanwhile, it has been revealed that Chelsea made a huge bid in the region of £74 million for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba last season. The Blues were strongly linked with a move for the French midfielder, but any move failed to materialize.

Now according to French publication L’Equipe, the Blues did make an unsuccessful attempt to sign the high-profile midfielder. According to the report, the bid was made in the closing stages of the transfer window and despite Juventus’ willingness to sell their player, Pogba’s agent refused to rush the deal.

The 23-year old is one of the most sought-after players in world football at the moment, and he is expected to leave Juventus in summer. Chelsea are once again interested in signing the player and their future manager Antonio Conte, who managed Pogba at Juventus, could play a huge role in convincing the player to move to Stamford Bridge.

Other clubs such as Man City, Man Utd, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Barcelona have also been linked with a move for the player.

In another Chelsea-related news, the Blues are keeping tabs on AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, according to Daily Mail. The report starts that the Blues will move for the 17-year old Italian goalkeeper if Thibaut Courtois decides to leave Stamford Bridge in summer.

The Belgian goalkeeper has been linked with moves to Real Madrid and Barcelona recently. Man Utd are also reportedly interested in Donnarumma.
