Chelsea On The VERGE Of Completing Transfer Of €20m Rated £80,000-A-Week Star

In the words of La Gazzetta dello Sport :

“Something is stirring in Milan.”

The city , long cited as the football capital of Italy, housing two of Italian Football’s perennial giants in AC Milan and Inter Milan, has been bereft of joy in the last few years. With ten Champions League titles between them, the two have rich history and their fall from grace in recent years was to the detriment of the entire Italian Football.

However, fresh investment in both the Milan clubs coupled with the rise of Napoli and Roma as domestic forces , with Juventus now trailblazers in Italian football, has prompted swift action from both in this summer transfer window. While Milan have confirmed the high profile arrivals of Carlos Bacca and Luiz Adriano ,Inter have gone a step ahead in the quest for domestic superiority and have already landed players like Geoffrey Kondogbia, Miranda, Jeison Murrilo and Martin Montoya.

Reports in Italy are now claiming that the Nerazzuri are set to add another player to that list in the form of highly coveted Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah, with a €20 million offer said to be in the pipeline for the 23 year old Egyptian International. Salah had spent the second half of last season at Fiorentina and had enjoyed a stellar campaign, scoring six goals in 16 Serie A games. He was also instrumental in the Viola’s run to the Europa League semifinals.

Fiorentina had an option to keep the playmaker for another season on loan by paying Chelsea €1 million , and then to sign him outright after next season for a reported €17 million. However, Salah seems to have rejected that loan move, thereby paving the way for Inter to swoop in and bid for his services.

Forza Italian Football are claiming that despite rejecting the chance to remain with Fiorentina, Salah wishes to remain in Italy and that has prompted Inter Manager Roberto Mancini’s interest in bringing the player to the San Siro. The Daily Express are going so far as to say that the player has already agreed personal terms with Inter and only a delay in agreeing a suitable fee with Chelsea is holding the announcement.

After finishing eighth in the league last year, Inter are determined to make amends next season and their new signings have all been a statement of intent to the rivals.

Salah’s reluctance to remain with the Viola was confirmed by the remarks of his agent, who stated that the player has no intention of returning to Florence, and will reject an offer to improve his wages.

Already a hit in the Series A , Inter fans will be hopeful that the club can wrap up a deal soon and the Egyptian can fire them up the table next season.
