Chelsea On The VERGE Of Signing £18m Arsenal Target After MEGA Offer Is Made

Per the Express, Chelsea have reportedly offered Ghanaian highly rated right-back, Baba Rahman a lucrative contract that will see the player, who plays for Augsburg earn £1.2 million per annum should he decide to join the current EPL champions this summer.

Rahman, who has reportedly agreed to join Roma, is wanted as by the Blues as a replacement for Filipe Luis, who has failed to make the cut at the Bridge. Though, Augsburg are believed to be holding out for £18 million, the Express revealed Chelsea have held talks with the German club over a £10.5million move.

The paper quoted respected Italian journalist, Gianluca Di Marzio, who claimed that though, talks between both clubs have been held, Rahman is holding out for a move to Roma. The player is believed to have “snubbed” the offer of £1.2 million per annum being offered by Chelsea in favour of a move to the Italian club, Roma.

Besides tabling better and a bigger wages to Rahman, Roma are also believed to have assured the Ghana international of first-team football. The offer of first-team football may have helped the 20-year old in taking a decision to join Roman considering the fact that he would find such opportunities rare, with Cesar Azpilicueta currently occupying the left-back spot at the Bridge.

However, the transfer is still a long way from being completed, considering the fact that Augsburg and Roma are yet to agree on the transfer fee; which of course, gives the Blues a glimmer of hope.
