Chelsea On The VERGE Of Signing £75,000-A-Week Star

Following the exit of veteran Chelsea and Czech Republic International goalkeeper, Petr Cech from Chelsea just a couple of days ago, reports state that Blues’ Manager Jose Mourinho has made no delay in re-establishing the balance in his squad, and has moved to recruit a replacement, in the person of Stoke City goal keeper, Asmir
Begovic.

The Portuguese coach is a long-term admirer of the Bosnian keeper; and after sustained interest and pre-negotiations between both parties, it appears that Chelsea are ready to announce his arrival at Stamford
Bridge; with reports stating that Chelsea have reached an agreement with Stoke City for the transfer of the player- who will reportedly now earn £4 million annually as a Blue.

The 28 year-old Begovic, after making over 150 appearances over the last 5 seasons at Stoke City- the club which also harbours Chelsea loanee Victor Moses- is now expected to join up with the Blues’ pre-season training, once the supposed deal is finalised and officially announced.

Also, according to reports, the Blues’ hierarchy have promised him regular playing time, particularly in the FA Cup and Capital One Cup: but it appears that he would over-time, eventually have to settle for the position of Thibaut Courtois’ understudy at the club.
