Chelsea Plan January Move For £120,000-A-Week UCL Winner

The Blues are making a contingency plan to allay the fears that any injury to Asmir Begovic might scuttle their already unimpressive season – according to reports, Victor Valdes has been lined up as a possible buy for the Premier League reigning Champions.

After the anticipated long-term absence of Thibaut courtois due a knee injury, Asmir Begovic remains the sole recognised senior goalkeeper in Chelsea and any injury or knock to the Bosnian short-stopper will be one but too many for Chelsea who have inexperienced Jamal Blackman as back-up to Begovic.

Victor Valdez joined United last year October and was offered a new contract in the January of this year. Valdes had a fall-out with Van Gaal and it is understood that he wants out of Old Trafford following his lack of playing time with the current table toppers of the Premier League.

However, Valdes is one among the many on the list of Chelsea. Inter Milan’s Juan Pablo Carrizo, Miguel Angel Moya of Atletico Madrid and the veteran goalkeeper of Porto Helton. All the goalkeepers lined up by Chelsea are currently out of favour at their various clubs.

Nonetheless, Chelsea would require the approval of the Premier League to make any emergency signing outside the transfer window.
