Chelsea Plan Signing Of 31 Goals 6 Assists Striker, Abramovich Involved In Deal Negotiation, Wenger Loses Out Again
Even though it is highly unlike that Chelsea would let their best attacker off the radar, there are reports in France and England stating that Alexandre Lacazette is wanted by Chelsea as a long term replacement for Costa, reports Daily Mirror. According to the reports, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich will be personally involved in the negotiation.
The French forward emerged as a transfer target for Chelsea and Arsenal during the summer but the Blues are keen on going back with a bid for the 24-year-old prolific finisher.
Chelsea’s Diego Costa ended last season as the top scorer for the Blues when he scored 20 goals in 26 games. However, he has been renowned more for his temperament than his goal scoring prowess this term and it is understood that Chelsea are looking to offload him.
Costa has scored two league goals this season and has been involved in several altercations on the pitch that even led to suspension. Known for his composure in from of goal, Lacazette is been watched by Chelsea and they preparing a move for the French forward.
Lacazette ended last season as the highest goal scorer for Lyon – he scored 27 goals in 33 appearances for the French outfit last term and has been relatively impressive this term too. He’s already scored five goals in 11 appearances for Lyon this term.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are sitting in 16th position on the Premier league log and they will be looking to bounce back from the defeat to Stoke City last week.
