Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard revealed the truth behind his poor season

Eden Hazard had recently broken his recent spell of underwhelming poor performances. It may well be too little to late to secure Chelsea’s season although it will be a boost to his country Belgium as he looks to lead the side in the Euros due to Kompany’s absence.

Hazard continued to dazzle in the latter stages of the campaign as he picked up a goal against Liverpool in a cracking game. Unfortunately the Blues were unable to get all three points as fellow Belgian, Benteke scored a last minute header.  The game ended 1-1.

When asked about his form this season, Hazard took the opportunity to defend himself and push off critics. However, he hopes that with recent strides of good showing he hopes to continue I that manner.

He had he following to say “Yeah, I don’t know. Everyone waiting a long season for me to be at this level. And boy did we have to wait a longtime.

Eden Hazard continued to say: “But now, yes, I am close to my best performance and I hope I can stay like this forever.”

When pushed on why his form has been so poor this campaign, Hazard admitted to struggling with injuries. He continued to say:”I don’t know. Sometimes you know, your body is not fit to play every game, every week but this is football if you want to stay at the top level we have to work every day. It’s not easy every day.”

The 25-year-old has had a disappointing  season as he only managed a mere 4 goals. It’s a remarkable turnaround as Hazard secured last year’s PFA Player of the Year. This year he looked nowhere near his best yet thankfully he can end the season on a high.

Hazard will be looking to bring his A-game on the last day of the season. It will be a interesting encounter as his Chelsea side will face the recently crowned Premier League champions Leicester City at Stamford Bridge. What a contrast in fortunes.

Then the Belgian will look to have a sparking Euro 2016 in France. Will Hazard continue his great form ? A good performance will bring back interest from too European clubs, Real Madrid in particular as they  were interested in the attacker last season.
