Chelsea Ready To Activate £9.4m Release Clause Of Arsenal Target

Spain and Barcelona wonderkid Munir El Haddadi pre-season and early season form has not gone unnoticed as top European clubs have continued to court the latest product of the La Masia football academy. According to reports, Chelsea is ready to activate the release clause of the Morrocan/Spanish who is also interesting Arsenal.

Chelsea and Arsenal are the latest club to express their interest in adding the Spanish prodigy to their ranks after Barcelona have rebuffed interest from French giant Paris Saint-Germain. Barcelona are ready to retain the services of the 19-year-old amid interest from top clubs and has gone ahead to warn any potential suitors that they are not ready to do business for the youngster. The player himself is keen to stay in Catalonia and continue his progress in the Barcelona senior team.

Munir, an attacking midfielder is a joy to watch. Possesses great skills and ball control characteristic of the La Masia system. He will be a great addition to the attacking talents at Chelsea if Jose Mourinho could get Barcelona to do business.

He is a great prospect who can replace the legendary Didier Drogba when he finally gets to retire from the game. He is versatile and can play in any position behind the striker. He can also operate as a lone striker or second striker. At a height of 175cm he would not the tallest of strikers but his outburst of pace and trickery will allowing him glide past defenders to porch in goals.

One major factor that will determine if he switches club or stays at Barcelona is the amount of game time he sees. He already made Seven appearances in seven games for Barcelona in all competitions so far this season starting five of those games. Though, it is expected that with the return of Luis Suares from FIFA ban late October, Munir will find his game time limited.

Will he be willing to walk away or will he stay and fight for his place is a question only he can answer as most youngster will want to play game after game.

This is a player I’d like to see at Chelsea considering we will only have Diego Costa and Loic Remy in the striker’s department when Didier Drogba retires. If Jose can convince him to make a move it will be music to the heart of Chelsea supporters. He will also relish the opportunity of playing alongside the likes of Eden Hazard, Oscar and compatriot Cesc Fabregas in midfield.

If he decides to move to west London there won’t be fear to him adapting and settling down to the English side of life as Chelsea have a host of Spanish contingents(Cesar Azpilicueta, Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas) to help him achieve his football dream.
