Chelsea ready to sign world class defender, star is eager to join Blues

Every team in the English Premier League is looking forward to offloading some players and bringing in new ones. Teams that have struggled this season like Chelsea will be looking forward to staging an overhaul of the team that will turn tables and deliver the expected results.

In this spirit, Chelsea is considering a move for Aymen Abdennour from Valencia as the time to replace John Terry is finally here. With all due respect, his advancing age means that he will not be the main man in the defense lineup for Chelsea in the next few days.

Indeed, changes in Chelsea’s back four are long overdue.  After conceding 45 goals in the Premier league this season, there is no doubt that the defenders have run out of ideas this season.

After pulling out of the race to sign Everton’s defender John Stones, Chelsea now target 26-year old Aymen Abdennour . Having also scouted him in the January transfer window, a transfer now seems imminent.

The Tunisian, who was signed from Monaco last season, has struggled to impress at the Mestalla Stadium, appearing only 11 times for the Los Che Els Taronges. Chelsea wants to offer him a chance to rediscover his form as the team plans to content for titles next season.

Chelsea faces competition from AC Milan and Juventus, who are also keen on the defender. His arrival at the Stamford Bridge may mean that Gary Cahill will be sidelined, and this fuels the speculation that he may leave the club at the end of the season.
