Chelsea set to bring super talented midfielder as Conte’s first signing

Antonio Conte

Chelsea FC are understood to be preparing to make a move for young Malian Amadou Haidara. Haidara is a defensive midfield player and is currently on trial at French club Bordeaux from the JMG Avademy but no deal has been struck by the French side.

Reports suggest Haidara is set to become Antonio Conte’s first signing as Chelsea boss. Antonio Conte who was announced as the next Chelsea boss is already looking to bolster his squad with fresh signings.

The 18-year-old Mali international came under the radar of a host of European scouts during last year’s FIFA world Cup U-17 that was held in Chile and is now being tipped by many to follow in the footsteps of compatriot Adama Traore to make a move to the European continent.

Amadou Haidara was one of the most outstanding players in the tournament as his Malian led team finished as runners-up, losing to Nigeria 2-0 in the final.

Haidara is said to have a host of European clubs scraping for his signature with Reims, Monaco, Red bull Salzburg and Grenada all in the hunt to snap up the African. Chelsea are said to have been monitoring his progress during his time at the JMG Academy Bamako, Mali.
If the deal sails through however, Haidara would have to first of all spend time with Chelsea’s Dutch feeder club Vittesse Arnhem in order for him to gain a work permit, with a good number of blues youngster like Bertrand Traore already benefiting from such a move.
