Chelsea Signs Truly WORLD CLASS Argentine, Was Wanted By Barca & Arsenal
The EPL champions have gotten themselves a scout Luciano Zavagno, from Italian side Torino. The Argentine featured for clubs in Argentina, france, England, Italy and Greece. But Zavagno has been more successful as a scout than as a player. In 2010, he signed for the Italian Seria B club, Torino.
He has penned a one year contract with Jose Mourinho’s men. Chelsea has saddled him with the responsibility of scouting in South America with the hopes that he will find a star or more for Chelsea’s system.
His departure from Torino has been met with sadness and disappointments as some of his former colleagues have taken turn to bid him farewell and to say thank you. But, speaking to Toro News, the eagle eyed scout, expressed delights on his new job and mentioned that he has been looking forward to work with the “Special One”, Jose Mourinho.
“They contacted me a few weeks ago, they needed a figure that could be stationed in Argentina  ( Zagvano continues to live in Santa Fe), who knew the environment and who had experience in the English League. I did my calculations and I accepted.
“I hope to start soon, I cannot wait to leave. Next week I will go to London to see the facilities and get to know the leaders, closely observe the Youth, and especially get to know the person Mourinho.”
Zavagno featured for Derby County between 2002 – 2004. Giving his experience and exposure, wewill definitely be seeing a resurgence of Chelsea’s youth academy system, with the hopes of watching more Argentines lace their boots for Chelsea in the coming years.
