Chelsea Target Arrives At London Colney, Set To Sign For Arsenal

Nothing pleases Arsene Wenger more than the sight of a once promising youngster making it to the top echelons of football at his beloved Gunners. Over the length of his illustrious 18-year career in charge of the club, Wenger has molded many young  starlets of the London Colney facility to genuine superstars of world football. From Thierry Henry to Cesc Fabregas , and from Robin Van Persie to Jack Wilshere, all serve as glorious examples of this undeniable truth. All were either brought to the club at a young age or came through the ranks at the club, and from a very young age were influenced by one of the greatest purists in the game.

Wenger has often been criticized for his perceived desire of playing ‘perfect football’ rather than adopting a ‘win-at-all-costs’ mentality. However, the way that the team play is the reason why legions and legions of new supporters join the fan base every your. Wenger has never refrained from placing his truth in youth. Last season in itself was a testament when while having one of the strongest squads in the league, the young trio of Hector Bellerin , Francis Coquelin and Calum Chambers played as important a role as anyone else.

This degree of faith in the exuberance of youth is what sets Wenger apart from all conventional managers. And if reports in the Metro are to be believed , the Frenchman may soon have another gem to polish at his disposal. The outlet have claimed that highly-rated Nantes midfielder Amine Harit has been handed a week long trial at Arsenal’s London Colney training base, with a potential move to the North London club soon in the offing if all goes well. The 18-year old Frenchman was spotted at Arsenal training earlier at the week , with other youth players like Dan Crowley, Jeff Reine-Adelaide and Chris Willock , who are all vying to impress the manager and his coaching staff and force their way into the plans for next season, in the continued absence of some of the established members of the squad , who are on extended leave owing to their post season International commitments.

As per Metro, the youngster had arrived at the club on Tuesday, and is reportedly on a week long trial, which will see Arsene Wenger decide whether to sign him or not.

Harit all been attracting interest from several top clubs in Europe , most notably from Manchester United and Barcelona. However, it finally appears that Wenger may have the last laugh on this occasion , with Arsenal having moved swiftly enough to outmaneuver their counterparts.

The player had signed a new deal at Nantes just two months ago, which had paid put to all the rumors surrounding the youngster’s future. However, his presence at Arsenal training confirms that it was just a ploy by the League 1 club to extract as much money from his sale as possible.

Arsenal have a proud history of turning promising youngsters into world class performers and Gooners will be hoping that Harit’s name soon joins that elite list. The player, for his part, will hope to repay the faith the club has shown in him and should do well to know that he could not have chosen a better club or a manager to continue his development as a player.
