Chelsea Target To Sign For Manchester United On Monday, Will Earn £95,000-A-Week
According to various British and Spanish reports, Barcelona wizard Pedro Rodriguez has agreed to join Manchester United. It is claimed the player has played his last game for the Catalans in the UEFA Super Cup against Sevilla on Tuesday and a move to Old Trafford is now imminent.
Pedro wears the number seven shirt at Barcelona – his preferred number – and that was recently taken up by United’s new boy Memphis Depay, after Angel Di Maria who usually has the number at the back of his shirt left for Paris Saint-Germain recently.
Radamel Falcao worn the number nine shirt last season and he flopped massively during his loan spell and as a result, United opted against signing him on a permanent basis.
The No.9 shirt is now free to be taken up by a top-class forward and according to the Daily, it could be Pedro. The Spain winger will follow in the footsteps of Ruud van Nistelrooy Dimitar Berbatov, Louis Saha and Andy Cole if he is handed the shirt. It is reported Pedro will get £95,000 a week with Manchester United which is a significant upgrade on what he currently gets at Barca
Pedro’s arrival is expected to be announced withing twenty four hours – presumably today after United’s game against Aston Villa at Villa Park.
United’s need for pace upfront after the departure of Di Maria upfront will now be solved by the speedy Pedro – who was once a stalwart of the Barcelona team but things changed following the emergence of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar in a brilliant three-pronged attack.
This limited Pedro to a fringe role and because he still wants to continue playing at a higher level, he believes a move to Old Trafford will benefit him. In 24 hours as reported, he will be a Red Devil.
