This past week, various reports have claimed that Chelsea are close to appointing Antonio Conte as their next manager. Now, a recent report has further claimed that the Chelsea officials will be holding talks with representatives of Conte in London on Thursday.
Italian website Gianluca Di Marzio claims that the officials of the West London club will be hoping to conclude the deal on Thursday.
A lot of names have been linked with the Chelsea job recently, but the report claims that Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone remains the only other candidate in the running.
Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has already fallen out of the race after he recently agreed to a new deal at the Turin club.
Gazzetta Dello Sport also confirmed the report and claimed that both Antonio Conte and Chelsea’s Sporting Director Emenalo were seen together at Juventus Stadium last night.
The report claims that a deal could be announced as soon as Thursday or Friday. Conte is currently managing the Italy national team and will be taking charge of the Blues following the Euro Cup in summer.
Before his appointment to the national team, he led Juventus to three consecutive Serie A titles during his time at the club.
