Chelsea To ANNOUNCE Signing Of Arsenal Target – He Will Earn £65,000-A-Week

After several weeks of haggling and negotiations Chelsea have finally agreed a fee with Augsburg for the transfer of Abdul Baba Rahman. With personal terms already agreed between Chelsea and the Ghanaian defender already, all that stands in the way of finalising the deal is a medical. Premier League champions, Chelsea had a bid of 17.2 million pounds turned down over the weekend by Augsburg.

It is understood that Augsburg had been holding out for a fee of about 30 million euros but with Rahman having already agreed personal terms for his move to Stamford Bridge and the signing of 21 year Phillip Max as Rahman’s replacement, the German club have now settled for a compromise with the Blues.

The agreement between the two clubs will see Chelsea pay an initial 14 million pounds, a sum of £3.5 million paid in bonuses depending on Chelsea performances, £700,000 after the 21-year-old completes 20 games and a further £3.5m after he has made 100 appearances meaning the total value of the deal could reach almost £22m.

21 year old Abdul Baba Rahman will be Chelsea’s fifth signing of the season and will be hoping to do a much better job than his predecessor Filipe Luis who failed to pose much of a challenge to Chelsea’s starting left-back Filipe Luis. Baba Rahman arrives at Chelsea with a lot of promise and potential. The 21 year old made more tackles  (108) than any other player winning 90 of those, meaning an incredible tackle success rate of 83 per cent. The Ghanaian full-back performances caught the eye of many clubs in Europe after just one year at Augsburg. At just 21 years of age, Rahman still has many years to play and improve at Chelsea. The defending champions might have just made the best buy of the decade.
