Chelsea to bid £32m for Stones

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has joined manager Jose Mourinho to declare his interest in playing alongside Everton defender John Stones as the London club prepare a new £32 million pounds bid for the young Everton defender.

Chelsea have gotten a 20 million pounds bid they made before for the young defender rejected by Everton earlier but still keep after the player which means that the team needs the defender seriously.

If this bid is accepted and the player makes it into the Chelsea squad, he will break the transfer record for a British defender ever.

Gary Cahill who has played with John Stones in the England international squad has seen firsthand what the player is capable of and believes that the player’s abilities will improve and be shown better if he moves to Chelsea.

He said, “Are Chelsea a hard club to turn down? Yes of course. In terms of ambition, if you’re a young player in the game, have played  in the Premier League like he did a lot last year, and a big club come calling, it’s  very difficult to turn down because you want to achieve the most you can in the short period you have in your career as a professional footballer.”

“When a top club comes calling, who you know will be firing on all fronts with competitions and medals, that’s ultimately what you want to be playing for. It’s hard to turn down of course.” “I saw he was very comfortable on the ball from the first time I saw him with England, I am sure in the next few years he will fill out, learn a lot and potentially he can be a fantastic player. The Everton lads speak very highly of him, Phil Jagielka and Leighton Baines in particular, and he is a fantastic lad as well.

Chelsea would do well with John Stones if they eventually sign him as a defender because he is homegrown and will definitely add to Chelsea’s options in defence and at his young age of 21, he will be at the club and provide his service for the club for a long while before his steam starts to run out.

John Terry is obviously old and getting tired at Chelsea and the team needs a replacement with Gary Cahill also seeming to be losing steam with every match he plays for Chelsea.

Chelsea fans will hope that this signature happens and soon but Everton fans will not be happy if this deal goes through. Time will tell.
