Chelsea to Bring Thiago Silva on Loan to Save the Season, Brazilian Superstar to Earn £170,000-a-week

Chelsea have been linked with a surprise loan move for Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Thiago Silva. Daily Star reports that the Blues are looking for a possibility to bring the 31-year old defender on a loan move to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues have struggled defensively this season and wants to bring Silva as a short-term fix for the rest of the season as they are facing difficulties in procuring long-term targets in mid-season.

The West London club are prepared to pay Silva’s £170,000-a-week wages in order to secure his services.

However, Silva won’t be able to represent the Blues in the Champions League as he has already played for PSG in the competition.

Silva, who was considered one of the world’s best defenders at one time, signed for PSG in a €42 million deal from AC Milan in 2012. His move to the Paris club made him the world’s most expensive defender at the time.

He has won three Ligue 1 titles during his time with PSG. He also won a Serie A title with AC Milan in the 2010-11 season.
