Chelsea To Complete Transfer Of £80,000-A-Week UCL Winner In January

Nigerian international and Chelsea Central-midfielder, John Obi Mikel may have dropped way down in the pecking order at the Stamford Bridge but the player is obviously still wanted by other clubs across Europe who feel he can be very important to their clubs campaigns and one of such clubs is Besiktas who claim that the player is high on their transfer list and they will do all in their power to sign him by the January transfer window.

The Turkish club went to Chelsea with a bid for the player in the summer transfer window but had their bid rejected for the midfielder in the summer. However, the club has intentions to go with maybe a higher bid or even the smae bid in January for the player.

The club President,Fikret Oman claims they will try to test Chelsea’s resolve with another offer in January. He said, “We could enter the race again over the winter break.”

The 28-year-old central midfielder has seen himself frequently on the bench in recent times at Chelsea and the club may be ready to hold talks for the player by January instead of allowing him sit out his contract till 2017.

The player recently said that he is willing to sit out his contract with Chelsea till 2017 and Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho backed him up when he said the club will be needing him till his contract runs out and he prefers it that way, but the player might be noticing that he will never get enough playing time again at Chelsea with the hoard of central midfielders at the club and youngster Ruben Loftus-Cheek already joining them ahead of Mikel in the squad and he might therefore decide to go in search of first team opportunities if only to ensure that he is still picked for his country.

Chelsea and Besiktas fans will keep their fingers crossed as Chelsea will just want the player to be offloaded from the squad to give other players the chance and Besiktas fans will be hoping he signs for them to help their team’s campaign. January will tell.
