Chelsea Told They Can Sign Manchester United Target For €20m, He Guarantees Lots Of Goals

Chelsea are reportedly monitoring German goal machine Mario Gomez according to the Milliyet. The Blues are reported to have sent scouts over to Turkey to keep tabs on the Germany international. The Blues would however have to wait until the end of the season according to Beşiktaş president Fikret Orman before a deal of any form can be done.

Besiktas do not currently have a permanent deal on Mario Gomez as the German international is currently on loan from Fiorentina. The Black Eagles do however have a release clause which will be activated before the end of the season. Orman has gone on the record as saying that the club will only listen to offers starting €20 million for the experienced striker.

“At the end of the season if any club wants Gomez they will have to offer €20m million or more I mean we are talking about a German international striker who has proven himself countless times at the highest level,” Orman was quoted as saying by Radyospor.

Gomez has enjoyed an emphatic start to the Super Lig season at Beşiktaş scoring nine times already this season and has also attracted interest from Manchester United with Van Gaal’s side also keen on strengthening their misfiring attack.

The German goal machine was recently recalled to the Germany national team in Joachim Low’s most recent call up ahead of the international game against France. Gomez is also expected to be called up as a back up striker to Thomas Muller for the Euros.

Chelsea are in dire need of a proven striker and they will look to the experience and ability of Gomez to bring in the goals following poor performances from Diego Costa this season with the Chelsea striker only netting on 2 occasions so far this season.
