Rabiot Moving to Arsenal in Winter

Club to sign key midfielder in winter, official announcement to arrive in days

If reports from The Telegraph are to be believed, then Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has identified Adrien Rabiot as a key transfer target for the January transfer window. Wenger has always been a fan of the Paris Saint Germain star and it seems as if the Gunners boss is finally willing to make a move for the player.

The 20-year-old prospect is touted to have a brilliant career ahead of him but he is also seen as a player who can bolster any team right now. The midfielder has been a mainstay in the PSG team for the last three seasons and has already made more than 100 top flight appearances.

Arsenal are in need of some midfield talent as they have a wealth of players sidelined with injury. Jack Wilshere, Alexis Sanchez, Mikel Arteta, Francis Coquelin, Tomas Rosicky and Santi Cazorla are all out injured at the moment. Gunners boss Wenger realizes the need for reinforcements with games coming thick and fast as we approach the festive season. Arsenal are also bracing themselves for a mammoth clash in the UEFA Champions League against current champions Barcelona in the Round of 16.

Rabiot himself however appears to be disillusioned with life in Paris. The player has asked for a loan deal away from the club, a step that has irked not only the fans, but also the manager.

PSG manager Laurent Blanc said, “It annoys me, I don’t want to say anymore. Adrien has to understand that when you have the possibility of going at the end of your contract and to leave for free, you can do it. Otherwise, when you sign a contract of five years with PSG, you have to respect your first club.”

This unrest in the player’s camp could be a major factor in making any deal for the player even more possible and Arsenal fans will be hoping that they can snap him up without further ado.
